Mike WaldenKnowing how to use elastic laces properly improves comfort and convenience when running or participating in sports. Elastic laces stretch and flex with your foot, providing a secure yet comfortable fit. They eliminate the hassle of tying and retying laces mid-activity. Quick transitions make them perfect for triathletes and those in fast-paced sports. They reduce pressure points and improve comfort during long runs or intense workouts. In this article, we'll show you how to install and adjust elastic laces for optimal support and performance.
How to use elastic laces
You use elastic laces pretty much the same way as you would any other laces. It comes down to personal preference how you tie them. Here is our recommendation on how to tie elastic laces.
Step 1
Lace up your shoes as if you were using normal non-stretch laces. There are different ways to so this but we prefer the crossover pattern. You can use whatever you prefer.

Step 2
Thread the laces ends through the two holes in the lace lock provided. Press the button on the lock to allow the laces to pass through the holes.

Step 3
Pull the laces through until you reach the fit you require. It may take some trial and error before you reach a comfortable fit. Too loose and your foot moves around in the shoe. Too tight and you could restrict circulaton. Release the lock button to secure the laces in place.

Step 4
If you want to make sure they do not come undone then tie a knot in each lace against the plastic lace lock. This makes sure they don't slip and your fit stays the same.

Step 5
If you prefer a more casual fit you can adjust more easily then simply thread the lace ends back through the cord tip provided. This is perfect for casual wear when you are not involved in sport.

Step 6
Finally, tie the lace ends in a loop knot and cut off the excess length. Slide the cord tip down to cover the knot.
